Cookie Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

Death to Paper uses a small number of essential cookies to keep the service secure and working properly. They keep you signed in, protect forms, and show you a message after you save something.

We don't use cookies for advertising, analytics, behavioural tracking or marketing. That's why you won't see a cookie banner here: every cookie we set is needed to run the service, so there's nothing to accept or reject.

Because these cookies are necessary for the service to work, you can't turn them off in Death to Paper. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you won't be able to sign in without them.

The cookies we set

Name What it's for How long it lasts
sessionid Keeps you signed in as you move between pages. 2 weeks, or until you sign out
csrftoken Protects forms against cross-site request forgery, so another site can't submit a form as you. 1 year
messages Carries a one-off notice, such as "Client saved", to the next page you see. Until the notice has been shown

Saved in your browser

If you pick Light or Dark from the Appearance menu while you're signed out, we remember it in your browser's local storage, under dtp-theme, so the next page comes up the same way. It isn't a cookie: it stays in your browser and is never sent to us. It's only there if you choose it - picking System again removes it, and so does clearing your browser's data for this site. Once you're signed in, your choice is kept on your account instead.

Other services

Stripe. If you upgrade to Pro, you pay on Stripe's own checkout page. Stripe may set cookies there to process the payment and prevent fraud. Those cookies belong to Stripe and are covered by Stripe's cookie policy.

Cloudflare. Our site runs behind Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and abuse. Cloudflare may sometimes set a security cookie to tell real visitors from automated traffic. It isn't used to track you.

Fonts. We host our fonts on our own server, so loading a page doesn't send any request to Google or any other font provider.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add a cookie that isn't essential, we'll update this page and ask for your consent before setting it.
